NEW YORK — WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services consulting firm, recently received three awards from the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), including the JW Morris Sustaining Member Award for large companies.
The JW Morris Sustaining Member Award is given annually to a private sector organization for their continued and distinguished contributions to SAME. Todd Semonite, President of Federal Programs, accepted the award on behalf of WSP.
“I am grateful that so many people at WSP across the United States are active members of SAME, many of whom volunteer for leadership roles in the organization,” Semonite said. “For me personally, as a retired military officer, this award has a special and personal meaning, and I am proud to work with so many people here at WSP who share this commitment to the importance of protecting our national security through infrastructure development and innovation. »
Additionally, Elaina Edwards, Vice President of WSP’s Strategic Growth Team for the Southeast Region and Co-Chair of SAME’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Sub-Committee, was recognized by SAME with the Medal. of the President for his exceptional leadership and achievements in support of SAME’s commitment to DCI.
Margaret Burcham, Senior Vice President of the Federal Division of WSP, Director of the U.S. Army Portfolio and SAME Rhein-Main Post Vice President for Industry-Government Engagement (IGE), assisted the Rhein-Main Post in Wiesbaden, Germany, to win the IGE award for excellence and leadership in supporting the Society’s IGE plan. Burcham is based in Washington, D.C.
The winners were recognized May 13 at the conclusion of the recent SAME Joint Engineer & Training Conference Society Awards Ball and Gala in Aurora, Colorado.
