Indian company Mahindra Defense Systems Ltd (MDSL) displayed 4×4 Light Specialized Vehicles (LSV) with 81/120mm mortars at Defexpo 2022, which will be held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, from October 18-22.
According to MDSL, LSVs equipped with 81/120mm mortars are high-mobility, high-firepower, shooting, and scooter vehicles.
LSVs equipped with 81/120mm mortars, which MDSL claims to be the lightest mortar carrier system in the world, provide high mobility capabilities to combat units.
The vehicles are equipped with an electromechanical aiming system to provide a fast and accurate orientation mechanism, MDSL said.
LSVs with 81/120 mm mortar software incorporate Geographic Information System technology and features such as zonal fire and multiple fire.
The vehicle is equipped with simultaneous impact functions to facilitate operations and increase the firepower effect on the target.
LSVs equipped with 81/120 mm mortars also incorporate a fire control system.
The vehicle can deploy the mortar and aim at the target in 30 seconds and aim again automatically in five seconds.
