The Green Bay Packers are teaming up with Canadian whiskey brand Crown Royal during the month of November to encourage fans to participate in the Purple Bag Project, which encourages people to generously donate one bag at a time.
For more than a decade, Crown Royal has shipped its iconic purple bags filled with essential items to service members overseas as a care package. Normally, Packers fans of legal drinking age have had the opportunity to pack their bags in person on match days on the Lambeau Field Fan Catwalk; However, this year fans will be able to participate virtually in pack.crownroyal.com.
On the website, each care package will be packaged with handwritten notes, non-perishable food, personal care items, and essentials, and then shipped to the military overseas through The Purple’s charity partner. Bag Project, Packages From Home.
This program is part of the annual league-wide Salute to Service initiative held throughout November, aimed at recognizing veterans and members of the military in conjunction with Veterans Day, and offers a variety of ways for fans to get involved and join the team in greeting those who serve.
