Norman Thompson was a US Army veteran

Norman Ray Thompson, 79, died Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 7:13 p.m. at Mercy Health-St. Rita Medical Center, Lima.

He was born on August 15, 1942 in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Lewis Raymond and Delora (Winget) Thompson. On May 14, 1997, Norman married Gloria J. Conrad and she predeceased him on August 13, 2003.

Norman is survived by his two children: Randy (Laura) Thompson of Pataskala and Kristina Allen of Bellefontaine; one grandson, Hunter Allen; one brother, Richard (Rita) Thompson of Ottawa; and a sister, Norleen (Gene) Neinberg of Pandora.

He was predeceased by his three brothers: Edward, Louis and Kenneth Thompson.

Norman retired from Ford Motor Company of Lima. He was a member of the Bethel Church of Christ, Ada. Norman was a US Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Ada VFW Post #9381.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Mike Meeker officiating. Interment will be at Thompson Cemetery, Bluffton with Military Honors led by Ada VFW Post #9381 and U.S. Army Honor Guards.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 14 at Ada’s Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity chosen by the donor.
