GRAFENWOEHR, Germany — U.S. Army PCS travelers can now use DFAS SmartVoucher tool to quickly and easily fill out their travel vouchers. This streamlined process allows soldiers to get their travel expenses paid faster.
The SmartVoucher is an online tool that guides travelers through user-friendly questions about their trip and their dependents. Answers to these questions will automatically populate a DD 1351-2 (travel voucher) and other necessary forms. Additionally, SmartVoucher prompts travelers to upload the necessary supporting documents for a valid travel voucher.
Once PCS travelers have logged in SmartVoucher With their CAC or myPay ID and password, they will answer a series of simple questions similar to tax software, attach the required forms and submit the completed voucher. Soldiers should monitor their emails for status updates or corrections if needed.
SmartVoucher allows soldiers to get paid for their PCS money up to 50% faster and can be accessed anytime, anywhere with a CAC or myPay username/password. Additionally, soldiers can receive text or email notifications to expedite the claims process.
DFAS also reports that this process reduces PCS claim returns by up to 50%.
There are two ways to access SmartVoucher: Go directly to htpps://smartvoucher.dfas.mil/voucher or visit the myPay website and click on the Quick Links tab at the top of the home page. From there, travelers will be able to log in to their myPay account via CAC or their login ID and password.
In addition to traditional SCP vouchers, soldiers can use SmartVoucher for the following:
- Military PCS advances and vouchers
- Vouchers for dependent moves during the PCS
- Additional vouchers
- Retirement/separation checks
- Temporary Accommodation Expense Vouchers
- Travel expense claims
- Personal Movements (PPM) / Do It Yourself (DITY) – Attached for submission only

To note: DFAS does NOT calculate the correct Mil PCS for the Air Force, Navy, or Marine Corps. If DFAS does not calculate your Mil PCS voucher, please contact your local payroll office for assistance. If you are creating and submitting your Mil PCS SmartVoucher outside of your pay office, please contact your pay office to complete your current processing.
To note: Not for those who use DTS (Defense Travel System) for their travel vouchers.
