African American Military History Museum Hosts 8th Annual Needham Jones Bootcamp

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) – The Needham Jones Bootcamp is now accepting entries for its 8th annual program for young men aged 12-15.

The camp hosted by the Museum of African American Military History will include activities in areas such as team building, career exploration, confidence building, and health and wellness.

Museums director Latoya Norman says the program is designed to teach students skills and tips to help them better navigate back to school.

“We have a very good facilitator, Staff Sergeant David Brooks, who has been in the military for a while and has worked with us for four years,” Norman said. “This camp will make sure you use your time wisely and just a wide range of things that will really help them eat well, exercise, all those things that will really help them be successful during the school year. .”

The training camp will take place on July 12, 13, 18, 19 and 20. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.
